- Activity Check
- - A period of time within which members have to post in a certain thread or contact the administrator or staff and show they are still active and interested in the game. These are usually posted periodically and anyone who doesn’t reply either marked inactive or deleted, often after warning.
- Admin
- - The administrator of a site, usually the person who owns/runs the site or forum.
- Advanced
- - Within roleplay circles advanced typically means a higher standard of play is expected, often this is reflected in the fact that members are expected to have an excellent grasp on the language in which the game is written e.g. the correct spelling and grammar. They are also expected to have an excellent grasp on roleplay itself, character creation, plot development and other story related writing skills. Advanced players are considered to be those who can fit into a site’s writing style and limits, and doesn’t create bland, useless characters, Mary Sues or Gary Stu’s. New roleplayers are generally advised against joining an advanced game until they truly know what they’re doing.
- APC
- - Short for “Account Per Character”, this means that each character must have their own account on the roleplay site or forum.
- APP
- - Short for “Account Per Player”, means that there is only an account per player. This is no harder or more confusing than APC as players should mention their character’s name somewhere in the post anyway.
